• The Small Tortoiseshell butterfly is one of the most well-known butterflies in Britain. Have you spotted one yet this year? 🦋

  It is one of the first butterflies to be seen in spring and in the autumn it often visits garden flowers in large numbers. However in recent years numbers have seen a decline, so we can help them by planting nectar rich plants in our gardens. They also love nettles, so leaving a patch for them in your garden is a great help.
