The latest report from Bisham Barn Owl Group is out and it makes for an interesting read
In the Wild Marlow area 5 barn owl nest attempts were monitored, 3 of which unfortunately failed.
One box was occupied but the pair did not breed.
The 2 successful nests, raised 8 chicks
These stunning birds are a Schedule 1 protected species, so doing all we can to support them is vital for their success.
Installing boxes in appropriate territories is helpful, but learning to love scruffy grassland and stopping the use of poisons, is something we can all do to ensure their food source of voles is plentiful and healthy
