Spade Oak Lake Workparty

We have been contacted by the Groundwork South, currently undertaking important habitat restoration and maintenance work in the wildlife conservation area at Spade Oak Lake. They have reached out to us to offer practical volunteering sessions, the next one being in the morning on Saturday 31st October 2026.
The main task will be removal of invasive buddleia, with a few other small tasks. Groundwork South will supply all the tools, gloves, PPE etc… but you are welcome to use your own gloves if that’s preferable.
If you are able to help out 09:00 to 12:00, please let Jacqui Kirk know directly to secure your place, as they will be limited – Jacqui.Kirk@groundwork.org.uk or book online.
It a really important practical project to get involved in, looking after an area set aside for our precious wildlife, including multiple priority and protected species. The area is usually closed to the public.
