RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch 2026

It’s nearly time for one of our favourite Citizen Science events – the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch

It is the world’s largest garden wildlife survey, where every year hundreds of thousands of nature lovers take part, helping to build a picture of how our garden birds are faring. This year it is running from 23-25 January 2026.

Click here to sign up and you can receive an exclusive RSPB shop discount and a free digital or printed Birdwatch guide. You do not need to be an expect as there are plenty of resources to help you. It only takes an hour, so a great activity for all the family or on your own – you don’t even need to go outside!

Alternatively you can print off our handy guides of birds you are likely to see in your Marlow spaces, to submit the data after the weekend. So top up your feeders and let us know what you see land in your patch!

Bisham Barn Owl Group 2025 Report

The Bisham Barn Owl Group 2025 Report has been published 🦉

Last year was a record nesting year for their Retrapping Adults for Survival project, but sadly this year was very poor for nesting, with just 2 nest attempts and 4 chicks ringed, compared with 108 last year.

There could be many different reasons for this decline in numbers, and many wildlife species have cyclical population fluctuations, so let’s keep our talons crossed this iconic bird of our countryside, bounces back for 2026 💚
