MULCHING IS MARVELOUS - Mulch made from leaves and other trimmings is great in the garden because it prevents soil erosion, keeps moisture in the ground, helps soil maintain an even temperature and supports biodiversity.
You can buy mulch and we recommend organic so you don't bring chemicals into your garden. You can make your own mulch by collecting and repurposing organic matter found in your own garden, including leaves, grass clippings, and branches. The simple creation of mulch also provides a fantastic habitat for all sorts of beneficial soil organisms. MULCH IS NOT COMPOST, you are simply keeping your leaves and chopped up sticks (ideally shredded) until autumn when you can spread them generously onto your garden beds. Keep the energy created by your garden, in your garden!
